#CodeLagos 2018 Registration (Out-of-School), Centres and Benefits

 

 

CodeLagos is an initiative of the Lagos State Ministry of Education aimed at making coding education framework accessible to every student in Lagos State. This post will provide details on Code Lagos Program, registration and List of Code Lagos centers.

What is Code Lagos all about

CodeLagos strives towards an economy in which technology is leveraged to enhance the lives and promote the livelihoods of Lagos State residents, it is important to prepare all citizenry to meet new workforce demands, harness the benefits of technology, and communicate in the language of the future.

CodeLagos is positioning students in Lagos State to:

 

 

– Harness, create, and leverage on local & global opportunities

– Meet the growing demand for tech skills

– Approach the world of work as problem solvers

 

Beyond Coding…

– Learning to code unlocks a variety of other capabilities, including:

– Logical reasoning

– Problem solving

– Design thinking

– Creativity, among others.

 

By teaching students to code,

CodeLagos empowers them to become value-creating employees or job creators in any field they choose to pursue.

 

CodeLagos Centres

Out of the 275 schools, 130 of those are Government schools while 145 are private schools. Out of the 275 schools, 130 of those are Government schools while 145 are private schools.

 

CodeLagos centres are located in designated Primary and Secondary schools, as well as Public libraries and ICT spaces.

As part of our commitment to quality learning experiences in our classes, we are training CodeLagos facilitators as we prepare to commence the next CodeLagos Out-of-School session on Monday June 4, 2018.

How to Apply for CodeLagos Programme

The CodeLagos Out-of-School programme is open to Lagos residents who are 16 years and older, and not enrolled in any primary and secondary school in the State.

The programme which will run for six weeks will expose the trainees to courses in Java and Python programming languages as well as HTML and CSS for Web development.
