ADMISSION INTO UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMMES FOR 2017/2018 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) located at Okerenkoko with its takeoff campus at Kurutie Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State is established and owned by the Federal Government of Nigeria, and has been granted approval by the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence undergraduate degree programmes effective from the 2017/2018 academic session.

Accordingly, interested candidates who sat for the 2017/2018 University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)are hereby invited to apply for admission into the underlisted degree programmes.

1.0 NMU FACULTY OF TRANSPORT
Programs
i. B.Sc. Nautical Science
Ordinary level Requirements
Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry Biology and Geography
UTME Requirements
English Language, and three of Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology

ii. B.Sc. Transport logistics Management
Ordinary level Requirements
Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and one other social science subject
UTME Requirements
English Language, Mathematics, Economics and one other social science subject

iii. B.Sc. Marine Economics and Finance
Ordinary level Requirements
Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and one other social science subject
UTME Requirements
English Language, Mathematics, Economics and one other social science subject

iv. B.Sc. Port Management
Ordinary level Requirements
Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and one other social science subject
UTME Requirements
English Language, Mathematics, Economics and one other social science subject

2.0 – NMU FACULTY OF ENGINEERING
i. B.Eng. Marine Engineering
Ordinary level Requirements
Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics Chemistry and Biology
UTME Requirements
English Language, Mathematics and any two of Physics, Chemistry and Biology

ii. B.Eng. Civil Engineering   
Ordinary level Requirements
Five credits at SSCE (or it equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics Chemistry and Biology
UTME Requirements
English Language, Mathematics and any two of Physics, Chemistry and Biology


iii. B.Eng Electrical Engineering    
Ordinary level Requirements
Five credits at SSCE (or it equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics Chemistry and Biology
UTME Requirements
English Language, Mathematics and any two of Physics, Chemistry and Biology
iv. B.Eng. Mechanical Engineering
Ordinary level Requirements
Five credits at SSCE (or it equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics Chemistry and Biology
UTME Requirements
English Language, Mathematics and any two of Physics, Chemistry and Biology




v. B.Eng. Petroleum and Gas Engineering       
Ordinary level Requirements
Five credits at SSCE (or it equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics Chemistry and Biology
UTME Requirements
English Language, Mathematics and any two of Physics, Chemistry and Biology




3.0 NMU FAULTY OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
i. B.Sc. Environmental Management and Pollution Control        
Ordinary level Requirements
Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two other social science subjectsor one social science subject and any other subject             
UTME Requirements
English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other social science subject



ii. B.Sc. Meteorology and Climate Change       
Ordinary level Requirements
Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Economics Geography and two other social science subjects or one social science subject and any other subject        
UTME Requirements
English Language, Mathematics, Economics Geography and any other social science subject
iii. B.Sc. Fisheries and Aquaculture        
Ordinary level Requirements
Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science and Physics/Economics/Geography
UTME Requirements
English Language, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and Mathematics/Physics


iv. B.Sc Marine Geology       
Ordinary level Requirements
Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics Economics/Geography and Biology
UTME Requirements
English Language, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and Mathematics/Physics


GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICANTS
i. Interested applicants must have written the unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in the 2017/2018 academic session.

ii. Applicants must have scored 200 marks and above in the examination referred to in item (i) above

iii. Applicant who have already gained admission into any tertiary institution in the country are not eligible to apply

iv. Five credits in relevant subjects in SSCE, (or its equivalent) obtained in not more than two sittings



METHOD OF PROCESSING APPLICATION FORM

Interested applicant could obtain and process forms for any of the aforelisted programmes through the following means:
a. Eligible applicants are to login into the official website of the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) www.nmu.edu.ng And click on Application form.

b. Submit the online Application form and print a copy
