The joint admission and matriculation board JAMB recently announced the official cut of mark for all higher institutions in Nigeria. Below are the cutoff point;
Universities – 120
Polytechnics & College of Education – 100
Innovative Enterprise Institutes – 110
However other institution may set their requirement cutoff in their 2017/18 admission criteria for their various courses. Below are the UNICAL cut off marks;
220 – 240 – Medicine (O’ Level result with one sitting only) and Nursing
200 – Mass Communication, Common Law, Pharmacy, Anatomy, Physiology
190 – Computer Science, English Language, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Geology, all engineering courses except Agricultural and Biosystem Engineering.
180 – All other courses
Candidate who meet this cutoff and choose UNICAL as their choice should prepare for the screening date which will be announced soon.
Note that candidates with high scores in UTME and high O’level(WAEC or NECO, NABTEB) grades stand a better gaining admission.
