OnePlus 3: Use these Steps to Install Custom ROM, Root, Flash, Back-UP and more.

One Plus 3 is an awesome smartphone that was released in June 2016. This 4G LTE device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and has a 64GB internal memory and a 6GB RAM. Another amazing feature of the OnePlus Three smartphone is the 16MP Primary Camera and FingerPrint Scanner.
In this post, I'm going to show you how you can;
  • How to install ADB and fastboot
  • How to unlock bootloader
  • How to flash TWRP recovery
  • How to create nandroid backup
  • How to root with SuperSU
  • How to install custom ROM
  • How to create EFS backup

All on your One Plus 3 smartphone. Remember to BACK UP your DATA before you begin.

1) To install ADB and fastboot
Download ADB for Windows PC HERE Then Install ADB drivers on your PC.
2)Steps to Unlock Bootloader
Switch of the OnePlus 3 smartphone
Now hold the VOLUME UP and POWER button together to boot ONEPLUS 3 into FASTBOOT Mode. If this this correctly, the fastboot text would be displayed.
Connect your Device to PC, now Hold SHIFT + RIGHT CLICK and click Open Command Prompt from the menu on the screen.
Now type and RUN the code - f a s t b o o t   d e v i c e s
This command will display the connected device(s).
Click the following command to unlock bootloader: fastboot oem unlock. (This command wipes your device)
Now reboot your phone using the command: f a s t b o o t   r e b o o t
Your bootloader has now been successfully unlocked.

Now Enable USB Debugging on your OnePlus 3 smartphone - do this from Settings > About Device > tap the Build Number 7 times to enable the Developer Options. Now tap Settings >Developer Options and check the Enable USB Debugging box.

Still Under Setting >> Developer Options: Enable OEM Unlock
Still Under Settings >> Developer Options: Enable Advance Reboot.

ONEPlus 3: How to flash TWRP recovery
Download the TWRP Recovery File HERE. Then rename the file to Recovery.img
Now turn off the phone and place it into recovery mode.
Connect the Phone to PC and Hold SHIFT + RIGHT CLICK and click Open Command Prompt from the menu on the screen.
Execute the command: fastboot flashrecovery recovery.img
When the file installation is complete. Disconnect and hold the VOLUME UP + POWER buttons together to boot ONEPLUS 3 into Recovery.
In TWRP recovery, select Reboot >> System. The phone will now boot 
into System.

Step to create Nandroid Backup on OnePlus 3
Boot OnePlus 3 into recovery mode.
Go to backup menu and select the listed partitions.
Swipe to create the back-up. This step will take some time.
When it's done, reboot the device.

How to root OnePlus Android with SuperSU
Download SuperSU root file HERE.
Connect the phone to the PC then transfer the SuperSu file to the storage of the phone.
Disconnect from PC and turn off the phone.
Hold the VOLUME UP + POWER buttons together to boot ONEPLUS 3 into Recovery. From the recovery mode menu, select Install >> then select SuperSU file.
Do a swipe to confirm the installation the reboot it.

How to install custom ROM
Download any custom ROM of your choice, then copy it to the internal storage of the phone.
Turn off your device and boot into recovery mode.
In the recovery menu select Wipe>> Advanced Wipe>> select Dalvik + System + Data + Cache then swipe to perform wipe.
When the wipe is finished, go back to Recovery Menu, select Install, then locate and select the Custom ROM file you downloaded earlier.
Swipe to confirm the installation.
Use the same process to install Gapps and reboot the phone. ( Be patient, this process will take a while to complete)

How to create EFS backup
Launch Terminal Emulator on phone. A command line will be displayed. Now Enable root access with this command: SU
Then enter both the following commands:
dd if=/dev/block/sdf1of=/sdcard/modemst1.binbs=512

dd if=/dev/block/sdf1of=/sdcard/modemst1.binbs=512

This command will place two files in your phone internal memory.
