Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 users can now update their device to the latest OS which is Android 6.01 Marshmallow. The OS is said to improve battery life as well as device performance. The update which has been long awaited is gradually becoming available for download on various carrier network around the world.
Mobile Networks in countries like USA, Ireland, Denmark, Nepal etc have already begun rolling out the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update to their subscribers. So if you are yet to get an OTA update notification on your Samsung galaxy tab S2 from your wireless service provider, kindly exercise patience, it would be rolled out soon.
However Samsung Galaxy Mobile users should note that after upgrading to Marshmallow, it will not be possible to downgrade back to your previous OS version(Lollipop). Any if attempted by any other means such as hacking or performing a root function on your device this will void the Galaxy Tab S2's warranty.
Upgrading Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
All Android users are advised to always BACK-UP their Android Mobile devices before performing an upgrade to avoid loss of data due to possible errors that may occur during an OTA or manual offline upgrade via PC.
Also make sure your device is fully charged before you commence an Android OS upgrade to avoid damaging your phone or TAB.
Now make sure you are connected to a reliable WiFi network with fast internet connectivity. The data required for Android 6.0.1 is about 1074MB.
Now to go Settings > About Device > Software Update. Then select 'Check For Update'. If your Wireless network Provide has provided the OS upgrade, you can now download and install Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on your device.
Once the upgrade is complete, the device will restart automatically. That's all.
Your device is now running on 6.01 Marshmallow. To confirm, go to setting > About Device, you'll see your new OS version and "T817AUCU2BPF2" as your new baseline version
