For some reason some of my friends are dumping their Blackberry and Android smartphones for iPhone, maybe it’s because iPhones are a lot more sophisticated than other smartphone brands or maybe they are just going along with the trend, I don’t know why.
But the thing they found very difficult was how to transfer their contacts from their Android to their iPhone. It took me time to figure this out because these two devices are running on different operating systems, but after doing a lot of research I finally did.
You can also use this same method to transfer contacts to your iPad or even an iPod. So if you are having this same problem I’m going to show you how it’s done.
Transferring Contacts from Android to iPhone
To do this you have to sync your entire android address book to Google Cloud contact service and then from there you can now transfer them to you iPhone. Note that you are going to need a Google account for this, Preferably the Google account you used on your Android device.
If you don’t have one or for some reason you can’t remember you login details, you can always create a new Google Account. You can also use this method to transfer contacts to your iPad or iPod device.
How to Sync Android Contacts to Google Cloud Contacts
Simply follow this steps Settings>Accounts & Sync>Google Account, from there you can now begin by clicking “Sync Contacts”. This is now sync your contacts on your android device to Google Cloud Contact. The process may take some minutes depending on the number of contacts you have.
