 Did you know that Nigeria has the largest number of internet users in West Africa? And judging by the statistics, 40% of Africa’s internet traffic comes from Nigeria. So you see, we really consume a lot data.

So what internet service provider is currently the most affordable and reliable in Nigeria today?, Many ISP’s claim to be cheap and dependable but unfortunately some of their subscribers don’t agree.

Therefore I’m going to make a list of some of the best and most affordable ISPs in Nigeria today and I’m going to be judging by personal experience. Though I haven’t used all the ISP’s in Nigeria, so I guess you will bear with me if I fail to mention your ISP.

I’ll like to make it known that this list is in no particular order, so lets get started.

MTN Nigeria – Majority of internet users would say MTN is like the most reliable network to be on in terms of voice and data communication. They also have a wide range data plans that suite all kinds of data enabled devices. And the best part is they are all affordable.

Swift Networks – This ISP offers high speed broadband internet to its subscribers and has proven to be very reliable even when sharing connectivity with multiple users. It also has a list of customer friendly data bundles too.

Smile Communication Ltd – Smile operates on a 4G LTE network, thereby making the internet connectivity reliable and efficient. Smile also offers a very affordable and flexible data subscription plan. You can visit their website on smile.com.ng to check out their plans and fee.

Others are;
Spectranet Ltd
Globalcom Limited
CoolLink
Etisalat Nigeria
Mobitel Nigeria Limited
Cobranet Limited
Airtel Nigeria

Although, I can’t really say which ISP is the fastest in Nigeria but I can assure you that all ISP’s listed above are all very reliable.

However, I advice that you also consider choosing the ISP with largest coverage area in Nigeria, Sadly, some of these ISP only function in major cities like Lagos, Abuja, Port-Harcourt and Ibadan and this is also a major factor that guarantees good connectivity.

If you want to subscribe to any of these ISPs, you can get a complete price list of their data plans on their websites.

Well, that’s it. These are my top ISPs in Nigeria in 2014.
